GRADE FIVE

PYRAMIDS, PALACES, AND GREAT BIG WALLS
This year we will explore how religion and art intersect across the globe. Art exists for so many reasons, but one of the most important is to teach, and art has often served as a visual aid to our world's religions. Topics covered include Medieval Christian art and architecture, Judaic art and symbolism, Classical Greek and Roman cultural icons, Celtic and Viking metallurgy, Russian orthodox icons, Central American jewelry, and South American pottery.
